Florida Revival
I'm sitting here on my day off chilln with my little lady (Noelle). No words to describe what she means to me. God is good. Man I can't get my mind off all that God is doing in this hour. I just wanted to throw out a few Friday thoughts regarding the move of God in Florida.
First let me say, I endorse this move of God. I have been asked often what I think about the Revival in Florida and all can say is, I'm in but.......... I think this Revival is much bigger than Florida and we are seeing that! I think before we pack our bags, book our tickets, and flock to Florida we must discern what God is doing in our own city. I have a hunch that is probably more than you think.
Here is another thought. If signs, wonders, and miracles were common place in our local churches which they should be, there would not be this mad rush to Florida. Hunger and expectation create an atmosphere. With that in mind what would our services look like if we went with the same level of expectation as we do when we go to a conference or a revival? Face it, we'll travel and pay big bucks to go and get filled up. We do it usually because were hungry for more and at times thats ok. Our hunger puts a demand on God. Our instinct should not be to eat out every time were hungry. Eat a meal at home spiritually speaking that is. I do believe at times we do need to get away for a time of refreshing as long as it's the exception and not the rule. Are you hungry? If so eat in! You will be surprised how full you might get! On a practical side, the money you would spend to go to a conference in some cases several thousand, invest that money in a local ministry. Or start a ministry in your own city. Or ask your pastor if your church could use a few extra bucks. Just a thought.
What about impartation? I'm all for it! My question is when is enough, enough? For instance another well known ministry was reporting about Florida and in the same breath was inviting everyone to their conference in another state and promising impartation to all who intended. Where does it stop? When our money runs out and we cant afford the travel cost? What are we doing with our last impartation? How are changing the world with our current impartation? I'm not trying to sound critical because I'm not. I'm just an advocate for the local church and balance.
Will I go to Florida? I might, but when I do it won't be because God is not moving in my city.
So..... I pumped about this move of God!!! I embrace what God is doing in Florida! God is moving powerfully in my city and yours, so let's build Him a stage that He might display His glory!!!
