Transparent Leadership

I am a believer of transparent leadership. In leading this way people have a front row seat watching my life story being lived out day by day. They see the process behind many life and ministry decisions. Transparent leadership is a constant reminder to those I lead that i'm not a super hero but a superman that makes many mistakes. They see me wrestle with issues. The difference between transparent leadership and nontransparent leadership is this. In nontransparent leadership you just see the fruit of the leaders decisions good or bad. Transparent leadership allows folks to see the process the leader goes through to obtain fruit.

Transparent leadership is risky! It is an open door to criticism, judgment, and many many opinions. I am starting to wonder if it's worth it. Transparency has a high price. There is no way to accurately count the cost. I am honestly wrestling with the the, "is it worth it". I wonder if people have a hard time following a leader they know so much about. A leader that doesn't pretend to always have it all together. Is transparency a sign of weakness or strength? Or is it a sign of extrem security? Just a few questions I ponder every now and then.

Don't read into this. I m not writing in response to anyone or anything. I'm just being transparent. I  can't help myself! Lead strong and lead real!
