Slow Down and Enjoy

Slow down and enjoy life was the theme of Darin a TLC staff member the other night when he brought the heat at our mid-week service. My wife kicked me in the shin the whole time, saying thats for you! After the fifth kick to my addmittingly small and boney but sexy shin I got the point, but that didnt stop her from kicking.

Darin hit it out of the park with that thought. When we run to fast we often miss the precious moments that life is made of. We run fast with great intentions. The motive of our velocity is never to neglect our families, our friends, and even ourselves for that matter. The goal is not to run so fast we dont  have the time to enjoy life and the many blessings that can be found only while running at a slower pace. Although this is not our desire or motive it can become our reality if not careful.

Let me speak specifically to Pastors and ministry leaders. Please don't hide behind the Kingdom. God never called you to neglect your family for His glory! Your family should never take second seat to your ministry, NEVER! The number of prodigals would be cut in half if our priorities were correct. There is nothing glorious or roamanitic about sacrificing your family for the Kingdom. So if your family is falling apart, dont be so quick to blame the business of the kingdom, look in the mirror. There is always enough time to build the kingdom and your family. And please dont blame the devil for the fruit of your neglect. It's not that spiritual, it's a time management and priority issue.

So....... Slow down and enjoy! Learn how to say NO! Submit your calendar to your spouse, have them help you manage your time. Get before the Lord and let Him help you prioritize your life. Do only what you were called to do. Get a hobby. Have family nights and date nights, and turn off your phones while doing so. Serve your families as much if not more than you serve others.

So take heed to the words of a wise man named Darin aka (Rabi) Slow down and enjoy!
